Records, 1743-1948.

This collection of local records consists of six land deeds, 1743-1839; a record of epitaphs, 1749-1830; and a record book of the Grafton Female Moral Reform Society, 1838-1867. Also included in the collection are several typed papers, 1916-1948, of the Grafton History Club on various historical subjects relating to Grafton. The collection also contains town documents and historical notes, which had been gathered by William Brigham (1806-1869), lawyer and historian, pertaining especially to the relationship between the proprietors of Grafton and the Nipmuc Indians, and the growth of the community throughout the eighteenth century.
